Submitting an incomplete or inaccurate application will delay your application being assessed.
Once you have submitted your application this will be checked by an officer. If we require any documents from you we will contact and ask you to upload these to your account.
Depending upon your circumstances, additional information may be requested including, for example:
- Local connection to Birmingham, for example employment or training
- Service in His Majesty's Armed Forces
- Child arrangement orders
- If you own your home
- Original mortgage statement from a recognised lender issued for the full last year and/or

- Any other information that helps to determine eligibility to rent social housing in England, for example, if you have pre-settled or settled status please provide a share code. View and prove your immigration status - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
If you do not provide the information requested, we will make a decision based upon the information we have available.
We are receiving 500 housing applications a week. We aim to assess applications within 8 weeks and once all information is available. Please do not contact us whilst awaiting a decision; this will allow us to assess your application more quickly.
Once your application has been assessed against the allocation scheme's criteria, you will be sent a decision letter by email.
